Interesting article....I used to always watch Miss America when I was younger, with Ann and Katherine. We would stay up SO late to see who won, every year! And even then, in the early-mid '90s, my grandparents used to talk about how Miss America wasn't as big of a deal when it was when they were younger, and everyone would gather around the TV set on Labor Day weekend to watch it. This article examines why, and I think it may be on to something...I don't think it's necessarily because we don't like pageants any more (because I LOVE them!).
